Mauro Zanabre is born in March 1986, in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In 1999, he starts secondary studies in a Polytechnic School for a period of 5 years. After learning different technical occupations/skills such as carpenter, electrician, informatics, electronic technician, and even automotive mechanic, he chose to study building design & construction, influenced by a tradition of family members within the building industry in previous generations.
In 2003, at the age of 18, he receives a "Maestro Mayor de Obras” diploma (equivalent to a building designer / builder), being this in Argentina, a professional with all the rights and responsibilities of signing off and building architectural projects (similar to an Architect) but only up to one basement, ground floor, four levels and a rooftop terrace (which is not a small thing).
The following year, in 2004, he continues studying Architecture in the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Industrial Design (FAUD), at the National University of Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina (UNMdP).

While studying, between 2007 and 2011, he workes for "Zanetti y Asociados" as a Junior Designer and Documenter as well as at the above-mentioned University as a Teaching Assistant in the “Architectural Design” subject (equivalent to 'Studio' in Melbourne), at the first and fourth year of the career.

In 2009, he has the opportunity to design and build a cabin for his father in the Argentinian Patagonia (his very first little project) as a registered MMO. From there onwards, he continues working as an independent professional, in association with Guillermo Tomasini and Mariana Moreira at times, on several residential and commercial projects as well as other architectural services such as technical reports and regularization of existing buildings without permission according to local laws and freelance drafter for other architects.

By April 2013 he finishes University studies with an Honours Degree in Architecture & Urbanism. He then becomes a registered Architect to continue with his architectural career.
During 2014, in association with Marcos Calvari, Florencia Silva and Mariana Moreira, he participates in an ideas' competition for a new headquarters of the Institute of Magistrates, winning an honourable mention award.

At the end of 2014, he travels to Europe looking for new experiences and growth opportunities. During 2015, he workes in Dublin, Ireland, for Rodrigo P. Browne Architects, assisting in 2D and 3D drafting and detailed studies for a (successful) planning application, consisting of a No. 9 unit apartment block in Donnycarney, Dublin 5., worth
After living and travelling for one year in the Republic of Ireland, he travels around the western side of the old continent, visiting the greatest heritage and contemporary architecture from countries such as Northern Ireland, England, Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, San Marino and Portugal.

In August 2016, Mauro moves to Melbourne, Australia to settle and continue to grow and develop his career. In October, he works as a 'designer' at Warren J. Foster Architects, for a period of 6 months, mainly on residential projects worth up to AU$ 4,000,000.
From early 2017 to 2019, he works at Frank Kruize Consulting Architects as a 'design leader and documenter', where he has the opportunity to design, among other projects, a 3,700 m2 Community Health Centre worth AU$ 16,500,000 which is successfully approved by Maroondah City Council. Unfortunately, due to a re-structure within the client's organisation, the project does not proceed to construction phase and later on FKC closes the business down.
In Jun 2019, Mauro starts working at the internationally recognised and award-winning practice, Jackson Architecture, as a 'designer and documenter', being part of the construction documentation team for a 32 storeys Tower for Victoria University, worth AU$220,000,000 in Melbourne CBD.
From July 2020 to April 2024, Mauro joins Wardle (formerly John Wardle Architects), an internationally renowned studio celebrated for creating extraordinary buildings and places that matter. He starts as a 'documenter' for the first Australian Heart Hospital (69,100m²), worth AU$540,000,000, and advanced to become the Team Leader of a 21 storeys commercial tower in Brisbane (26,900m²), worth AU$100M, among other significant projects.

Currently, Mauro is seeking new opportunities to contribute to leading projects that will allow him to grow and make a meaningful impact.
